I think I resolved something.
Here is my latest thing…these are the woven hair “pods” which I took off of a failed piece I made for midterms. The forms have a wire structure and are woven with single strands of human hair. When I was initially working on them, they were not supposed to be so floral looking! I ended up liking this though…although it didn’t work with my original idea. My instinct was to make them into stick pins.
So, stick pins they are. And pressed in a book.
My goal for the end of the semester will be to make handmade books (or just one book) that are blank for these little guys to live in. They will either stick in the spine of the book or lay in an embossed page in the middle of the book.
